Political stabilityMany of the wars in the world are played out unofficially as power struggles over the world’s fossil fuels. Supply and demand for the world’s fossil fuels dominate the global economy. Most of our societies are dependent on fossil fuels. We are therefore extremely vulnerable to price increases for fossil fuels. In prosperous countries, our energy systems form the basis for our welfare. The greater stability and security an energy system displays, the stronger the base that is created for a high level of welfare in that given country. A well planed energy system that is based on local, renewable energy is the most stable basis achievable for energy supply. For a nation, the use of renewable energy is identical with the creation of a much larger base for political independence from other countries. Wind People strives to make sure that our energy systems are nationally and locally owned in the broadest extent possible. A society that sells off its energy system to foreign investors and multi-national companies is gambling with its future welfare. |
