OrganizationThe Wind People Foundation is an international fund which was established in Denmark in early 2009. Today the fund is being established in Africa, South America, Asia and the Arabic countries respectively. The aim of the foundation:Mainly by erecting and operating renewable energy systems nationally and internationally, the fund aims at creating the basis for establishing charitable non-profit corporations and implement charitable projects that contribute to one or more of the following goals:
In each country where the fund is established, the profit from the projects set up shall contribute solely to humanitarian purposes in that country. For instance, the total surplus generated by Wind People Brasil will be earmarked for Brazil's population. By this approach the fund intends to be recognized and accepted in each country as a present national fund which truly works in favour of the local population. Wind People’s permanent staff generally serve as project leaders and coordinators in different countries. In addition to the employees at the headquarters in Denmark, Wind People’s priority is to have two employees in each project country until specific wind parks are being built. Thereafter, the number of employees will be increased in the relevant country. The permanent staff represents only a limited range of the professional expertise the fund draws on. Wind People’s work is very much based on an external network of partners who have worked with renewable energy for more than 30 years. A significant part of Wind People's work is to open doors at the highest political levels and to disseminate the fund's messages to the world's local communities. An important number of Wind People collaborators therefore form an ambassadorial corps which can, respectively, open doors to the offices of world leaders, or are capable of reaching out to individuals in our world community, seeking their engagement in our common effort. |
